What's an Atmosphere account?

Your Atmosphere account is your identity on the Atmosphere — the open network behind Bluesky and a growing number of other apps, including ours. Think of it as a passport: something you carry with you, not something any single app hands you and can take away.

Use it across multiple apps

Your account works with Bluesky, and with any other app built on the same network, including our own (realms and lsky). Just like an email address works to sign into many different websites, your Atmosphere account lets you sign into different apps while keeping the same identity, followers, and content.

What makes it different

In most social platforms, your data belongs to the platform. With an Atmosphere account:

• You own your identity. Your handle and permanent ID belong to you, not to us.
• Your data is portable. Posts, follows, and content live in your own account, not locked inside one app's database.
• You can move freely. Switch hosting providers any time without losing followers, posts, or connections. Pick a provider that suits you — including one in your own country, if that matters.
• One identity, many apps. Use the same account across every app on the network.
